Artificial Intelligence

About this Guide

This guide is intended to help the Messiah University community navigate the evolving terrain of generative AI. It provides an overview of how generative AI works and offers resources for educators to teach about and with AI.

Remember, before using AI for any academic assignment or work-related task, be sure that the use is allowed by the University's policies. For students, your course syllabi will include information about when and how AI may or may not be permitted. Each course or assignment may have different guidelines. Speak with your instructor if you have any questions about AI usage in your course.

This guide will be updated occasionally. If you have questions about the guide, content formerly on the guide, or suggestions for new content, please contact Director of Murray Library Janet Vogel. If you have questions about AI at Messiah University, please contact the University's AI Coordinating Group for Teaching and Learning, which is chaired by Assistant Provost David Weaver-Zercher.
