  4. Locate Journal Article and Limit to Scholarly
  5. Request Item Through Interlibrary Loan

  3. Find book and journal article based on citation, rather than topic
  4. Use citation management software

  2. Answer two questions about whether you use citation management software

Library Session 4: Created and Called for Community: THEME: Evaluate and Integrate a Variety of Sources

Learning Objectives

  1. Revise search strategy to include a variety of sources
  2. Evaluate resources
  3. Determine if a resource is scholarly
  4. Use interlibrary loan appropriately

  1. Review search strategy materials from First Year Seminar
  2. Watch video about evaluating resources and take a short quiz
  3. Watch video about determining if a source is scholarly and take a short quiz

During class

  1. Revise search strategy to include a variety of sources - workshop
  2. Evaluate resources - group activity and share with class
  3. Determine if a resource is scholarly - group activity and share with class
  4. Use interlibrary loan appropriately - short demo during discussions
