Procedure
The Acquisitions Technician will order single title ebooks
When any ebook is ordered by a librarian, please identify what sort of user quantities are needed to fulfill the request. Also, designate a maximum price for purchase.
User quantities:
- Single User (1U)– One concurrent user may access the book.
- Three User (3U) - Three concurrent users may access the book at any given time.
- Unlimited Access (UA) – No restrictions on loan instances or simultaneous users.
- Non-Linear Lending (NL) – Unlimited users. Each "copy" of an ebook that a library purchases via Non-Linear Lending allows up to 325 loan instances per year. At the end of the lending year, these 325 loan instances automatically renew at no additional cost.
- A "Loan" occurs when any of these happens:
- Viewing of the book for more than 5 minutes (by an individual patron)
- Copy
- Download a page-range or chapter
- Full-download
